A lot of things seem to be happening off late. Some of them falling into place to complete the puzzle and some of them leaving a whole new puzzle open. From feeling like nothing around me bothered me enough to affect me (Strangely, my brain ceased to respond to stimuli, which I still feel sometimes and it’s a rather reassuring feeling. You know things are falling apart but your bubble is somehow protecting you from everything) to doing things that I’d normally run away from or wouldn’t make an effort to do anything about has left me with a new rush!
Last weekend was one of the most satisfying weekends I’ve had in a long long time. I passed my Driver’s Licence Test (finalllly!!!!) and got my driver’s licence in the mail yesterday. The whole process of going to a driving school-waiting everyday for a chance to drive-giving the test unsuccessfully-going back again-giving the test successfully was basically all I did in my vacation. It was also something I wouldn’t have done, if left to me. Nonetheless, I’m glad it’s over! My new mantra when I’m down these days is to remind myself that I’ve passed the test and do not have to go to an RTA until 2029 again. Seems to be working until now! Think of it, what’s the big deal about it? People get their licence everyday. But I guess it was one of those personal demons of mine that I’ve fucking finally conquered.
I can partially cross one item (17. Run a marathon.) off my wish list because of something I did the next day. I took part in the Hyderabad 10K Run. It wasn’t technically a marathon, and I for one, did not run. But it felt great anyway. Kinda like I’ve done something that I probably would have let go without even trying. Entering into it without any kind of practise and hogging in McDonalds right after that weren’t probably the best things to do before and after it, but meh! I fucking DID IT!!!!! Walking for over 13 kms that day did not do anything for my legs the next day though! :|
I also finally got around to buying my ACGs. Changed loyalty to Reebok and blew up most of what I’d earned on them. I haven’t completely fallen in love with them though, at least not yet. I’m hoping someday I will, I know I will. Buying them finally after postponing over and over again was good enough! Also voted in the municipal elections and it was my second time voting. The rush of the first time was missing but the fact that I voted was enough to compensate the mad excitement.
The winter is finally here. Feels like winter in Hyderabad after a really long time, could also have something to do with me leaving home by 6:30 every morning. But I’m absolutely enjoying it thanks to the fact that I’m getting to stay out most days after it starts getting chilly. In the whole ‘doing-new-things’, I almost forgot something that I won’t get to do ever again. Obsess over CRIMINAL MINDS like only a first-timer can. That show is fucking genius!! Wish there were other people who appreciated it the way I do, but I’m so in love with it and the characters that I think I’ve enough love to suffice for the rest of the world. There were so many times in between when I thought I couldn’t watch it further and one time when I needed someone else with me just to go ahead (Nithya, you saved my life. Long live Jason Gideon!). People around me thought I needed help, maybe I did need help, but I’m glad I did what I did.
There’s something else that’s finally coming to an end: Threshold 2 at Alliance Française. Sometimes, feels like I’ve been going to the classes for forever and the other times, I hardly remember attending them. Nevertheless, one more exam tomorrow and I’m done with it. I’m going to maybe miss the class somewhere but since I’m planning on joining the next level, I most definitely will not miss Ajey Balaji! That man is amazing, works harder than all of us combined. I think I’m kinda obsessed with him too. I talk about him more than I talk to him. Is that reason for worry? I’m hoping not. I just respect him way too much.
Just when I was thinking I wouldn’t have as much fun this weekend, I was very happily proved wrong! A message at 7 in the morning followed by a phone call and an impromptu plan made sure Karuna and I had a fan-fuckin-tastic time like only the two of us can have! Shilparamam-another pair of chappal (I’ve never felt more girly in my life)-searching for kulfi and not finding it-walking like that’s all we were born to do, lunch at 10D (Woman, you have no idea how much I love you!) and painting my toenails yellow!! Could the day get any better, I think not.
True to style, it took me more than a week to update the blog. I’ve been wanting to do it since I passed the test (:D :D:D) and so much more has happened in between. I’m glad I waited, got back to writing and probably my longest post is finally here.

Battle of Sitcoms
A friend of mine (loser :P) and I have had quite a lot of conversations that generally make no sense and are all worthy of being put at the 'Museum of Nonsense'. One day though, we had an impromptu battle of sitcoms. Here are excerpts from the conversation...
me: it's alright! don’t kill yourself over it :P
loser: no, I will :-(
I hate myself :-(
sniff
me: so do I..hate you :P
loser: see
EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND :-(
me: because of THE BIG BANG THEORY
loser: I have no FRIENDS
me: you have a FULL HOUSE of them
loser: nope, all died in THAT 70s SHOW
me: is that when you met the HOGAN'S FAMILY?
loser: no it's ACCORDING TO JIM
me: WHOSE LINE IS IT ANYWAY? Yours or mine?
loser: nope, neither. I believe I’m LOST
me: do you want to be found in HELL'S KITCHEN?
loser: no thanks I prefer to be found in TOP CHEF
me: btw, Gordon Ramsay rocks my socks!
wearing SCRUBS?
loser: Ramsay is one hell of a bitch. He causes DAMAGES
me: but he also maintains LAW AND ORDER
loser: who needs law and order when you can PRISON BREAK
me: Michael Scofield got all his tattoos from MIAMI INK
loser: and I got mine from SURVIVOR
The conversation moved to something else.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After a while...
loser: WHOSE LINE IS IT ANYWAY?
me: the lines are from the X-FILES
loser: Investigate by CSI MIAMI
me: and recorded in MUB3RS?
loser: nope, recorded in KYLE XY
me: ain’t the world a SMALL WONDER?
loser: No actually its filled with DIFFERENT STROKES
me: and a lot of UGLY BETTYs, don't you think?
loser: there are many Clark Kents too. Just like in SMALLVILLE.
We never did finish the conversation. Too many tangents going on at the same time :P

It's time for a weird conversation!
Met a senior at college today. Never knew him like a chaddi-buddy friend, but spoke to him more than a couple of times when he was in college. After stalling for a while, a friend of mine and I went up to to him and to say a ‘hi’. The conversation that followed was something like this...
Us: Hey K!
K: –nods head- Hey, how are you guys?
Us: We’re good. You? What are you doing in college?
K: I don’t know. I kinda lost my way and I landed here.
Us: ?? –stare at him-
K: -stares back-
Us: Seriously, what are you doing here?
K: Yeah, I’m going to London for my MBA and wanted a few things from college.
Us: Oh, that’s awesome!
K: -smiles-
Us: You’re here for your TC? Oh no, you probably have already collected it. (he passed out of college a couple of years ago)
K: TC? I was rusticated from college. Didn’t you know that?
Us: Umm, no. -stare at him-
K: I’m extremely sorry but I think we’ll have to discontinue the conversation. My dad’s waiting for me and I should go to him.
Us: -continue staring at him-
Us: Oh yeah, sure, go ahead. Bye!
K: -nods head and leaves-
Us: Who talks like that in real life?
Us: -walk back to the canteen thinking he’s totally lost it-
P.S: I still think you’re extremely cool K!

My Wishlist!
I’ve been making my wish list (more like a WANT LIST) for the past couple of days now. Right now, in my life, these are the things that I want to do. Things that are silly/sappy/serious, but nevertheless mine to do. Probably sometime in the future, the list may change and additions be made (I’ll update it then), but for now, here’s the list.

THE END OF A SUMMER
Sitting in class today I realised that summer was actually over. The vacation, not the season or the heat (when will it start pouring?). I had a plan for this summer. A plan that included doing absolutely anything to stop bumming around the house like I’ve always done and make myself busy. Wanted to work (if it’d been possible) but never really got to it because things (a lot of them) came up, surprisingly at the right times, and kept me very occupied. Things I’m awfully glad I did ‘coz not only did I have a very busy and eventful summer but also ‘coz I didn’t put on weight like I generally do (the overdose of chocolate at the end couldn't do any damage too)! :P
This summer saw me make new friends that I’m never letting go off, write more than I have in a very very very long time (getting paid was only part of the reason), meet people that I wouldn’t meet under normal circumstances, get a little closer to learning French better (yaayy!!), meet real life heroes, learn that nothing is permanent (why God?), make money, have fun with friends (with the very few that didn’t have exams *ahem, geeks, ahem*), get a new haircut, meet people that I’d prefer not meeting again (only if life was so kind!),give exams (wish I had had a choice!), attend weddings of people I didn’t know, cheer for my favouritest team and see them WINNN!!!!!, hog a lot of Chinese food and chat, turn 20 (nothing dramatic has happened yet!), watch French movies and sing French songs (AJEY BALAJI, you rock!), attend quizzes, have sleepovers on a weekly basis (F.U.N!), try my hand at cooking, buy embarrassing presents (people should turn 21 everyday!), stay up until 3:00 A.M to submit articles (darn deadlines!) , get addicted to music by Irish artists (S.E.X.Y!)and not do most of the things on my “TO-DO LIST FOR THE SUMMER”.
This was definitely one of the best summers of my life. Almost beating the summers which were spent ‘playing-all-day-long-with-friends-in-the-hot-sun-and-returning-home-only-to-sleep’. Almost, not quite though.
P.S: To everyone who was a part of my summer in whatever way, THANK YOU for being there!

WE DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the winners of the 2009 IPL - the Deccan Chargers! The whole team runs out and storms the field and what scenes in Johannesburg, one of the greatest venues in world cricket. All the Deccan players and support staff are cock-a-hoop, whooping it up like school kids on the last day of exams. Hats off to them. They finished last in 2008 and have now won the trophy. Gilchrist leads Deccan on a lap of victory. The crowd laps it up. Bangalore walk off looking gutted. Kumble looks very crestfallen." ---MUAHAHAHAHA---Text Source: Cricinfo (Jamie Alter, you R*O*C*K!)

Falling Slowly
Rajeev Masand had, a long time ago, recommended a small budgeted Irish movie called ONCE. Said it was movie that was simple and had a lovable charm. He also mentioned that it had won an Oscar for Best Original Song. Google-ing it and reading up on it for a bit ended whatever little alliance I had with it. Until my new-found love for Irish bands kicked in (the music is my kind, the accents sexy and the members unbelievable talented!). An evening of reading about and listening my way through ‘The History of Irish Music’, I re-discovered ONCE.
‘Falling Slowly’, the Academy Award winning song, has been written and performed by Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová. The song is plain MAGIC. It’s hauntingly beautiful. I haven’t stopped listening to it all day. It is sad, hopeful, fills you up with courage and makes you want to believe that there is ‘love’ out there, for each one of us.

I don't know you but I want you
All the more for that
Words fall through me and always fool me
And I can't react
And games that never amount
To more than they're meant
Will play themselves out
Take this sinking boat and point it home
We've still got time
Raise your hopeful voice you have a choice
You'll make it now
Falling slowly, eyes that know me
And I can't go back
Moods that take me and erase me
And I'm painted black
Well, you have suffered enough
And warred with yourself
It's time that you won
Take this sinking boat and point it home
We've still got time
Raise your hopeful voice you have a choice
You've made it now
Falling slowly sing your melody
I'll sing along
I paid the cost too late
Now you are gone
All the more for that
Words fall through me and always fool me
And I can't react
And games that never amount
To more than they're meant
Will play themselves out

The tagline of the movie reads ‘How often do you find the right person?’ Maybe it’s once, maybe it’s more than once!

You'll be missed!

You weren't the original choice. But eventually, it was you that came to me (thanx Sumant!). I was so excited to have you, took you almost everywhere. And now you're gone. It was great having you with me for a year and a half. YOU WILL BE MISSED!

About this and that...
Know the feeling? You know you have to do a certain thing, an obligation to make it happen. When there’s no backing out, no saying “Don’t wanna, not gonna, can’t make me!”, but you want nothing to do with it, run as far away as it's possible to and never look back? Studying for exams, or anything to do with studying in general evokes such sentiments. But I’m going through that phase for something that I just can’t afford to feel like that for: WRITING. I’m supposed to enjoy it, right? Then why do I feel like do anything but write? Probably has something to do with the fact that there are deadlines of sorts now. Takes the joy away from something that I’m rather fond of. A total turn-off!
Hence this attempt at getting back to into the grove of things. The week has been crazy. Two weddings and an almost third one (people have to take a break from getting married!), a meeting that brought about a whole new set of constraints to work exclusively in, being forced to be in company of a six year old who is on a full-time-sugar-high (no matter how adorable he is) and all of it in the blistering heat with little sleep has worn me out to the max. A break from the French classes was welcomed with more than just open arms. Catching up with everything that I’ve missed out on seems to be the mantra for the next couple of days.
Things at IPL are also getting tricky. With Kolkata (psht, they didn’t have a chance with all the *happenings* in and with the team) and Mumbai (some of the people I know haven’t recovered from the heart break yet!) out of contention, and Delhi and Chennai through, the calculations have become complex. A much better position than what we were at yesterday. The amount of maths Prakash and I did to see what the chances of each team were to get into the semis was more than all the maths I did in the whole of last year. It’d be sweet if the Royals and the Chargers would make it into the semis!! The two teams can manage to do anything. One can win a match despite the opposition only needing four runs with three wickets in hands in the last over and the other can lose seven wickets in seventeen balls!!!
In other IPL news, this is something I came across while watching a match today; ORBIT is the official chewing gum of IPL 2009. OFICIAL CHEWING GUM??? What’s next? Official detergent and official toothpaste? As if the “DLF Maximum” and “Citi Moment of Success” haven’t been said enough to make me want to throw up the next time I hear them, now there's an official gum to chew! Can’t help but imagine what it will come to in the next edition. It could be a “Pan Parag wide” and “Lux Cozi free hit” (since we are all about giving importance to the Indian players :P).
Current Mood: Fuck, WE (DECCAN CHARGERS) WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (I'd hate to be Brendon McCullum right now!)

NO-kia Ad!
I’d seen this ad a couple of years ago and thought it was the best thing after Mills and Boon. Happened to watch it again and still am in awe of how incredible it is (to a hopeless romantic like me, it’s everything and more!). The traditional on-the-knees proposal is always heartwarming to watch(even if it’s the 454758th time), but this is more than perfect, it's FLAWLESS! This is the stuff fairy-parallel-universe-tales are made of. Shakira’s Underneath Your Clothes (which is a lovely song by itself) makes it all the more “I-want-it-to-happen-to-me”able :D

IT RAINED!!
As a respite from the soaring heat, it finally rained yesterday. Arrived with an air of inevitability.Felt like it was lurking around in the shadows for a while before it eventually lashed out. Did nothing to recede the heat of the blistering afternoon of the very day it brought about the much needed respite though, walked in with a pace that could only be compared to that of a soldier fighting a war that shouldn't have started. Marched in, did the required job and never returned home. The irony of listening to Rain by Breaking Benjamin at the same time (thank god for phones with music players!) didn’t go missing. The name of the song was probably the only thing common between the rain, which had settled into a drizzle, and the song.
“Rain, Rain go away
Come again another day
All the world is waitin’ for the sun”
Hearing Benjamin Burnley sing these words, couldn’t help but think how much I wanted the receding rain to stay for a while longer,to be able to hold on to the drops in my palm which would slowly skirt away through the gaps btween the fingers, to be able to
“To lie here under you
Is all that I could ever do”.
But it stopped, as suddenly as it had come. Left without a glance behind. What stayed behind was the wind, which didn’t carry the fierceness but a pleasantness that could flutter hearts. Couldn’t help but wonder about how nature works. Gives us heat that tears us apart and then soothes it with something so serene. Much like how humans work, no? Break you down and then fix you.

Bollywood goes Voting!!!!
BREAKING NEWS: Bollywood biggies come out to vote. Shahrukh Khan [flies down from South Africa, commendable, but I think it had more to do with his team’s losing spree or that wedding nobody is supposed to know about], the Bachchan family comes out in full force [with all of them wearing the same colour!], Amir Khan, John Abraham , Karan Johar, Sonam Kapoor, Vidya Balan and a few others from the paltan cast their VOTE!!!! And that is somehow remarkable; shouldn’t this go down as one of the “YOU-HAFTA-KNOW-ABOUT-THIS-DAY” days in Indian history?
Big-fucking-deal! Aren’t they as much citizens of this country as the rest of us, less mortals, are? Isn’t it a primary duty of everyone to cast their vote? Then why the tamasha? Oh right, because they have the power to influence us. They appear in advertisements and promotional/inspirational videos and encourage us to vote. They lead us by example. Is that why Mumbai, after all the blood drawing against the politicians after 26/11 saw a turn out of around 43%? Is that why Mumbai registered a turn out 4% lesser than the last elections? Methinks, there’s something wrong with the picture.

GIN SOAKED BOY
I'm the darkness in the light
I'm the leftness in the right
I'm the rightness in the wrong
I'm the shortness in the long
I'm the goodness in the bad
I'm the saneness in the mad
I'm the sadness in the joy
I'm the gin in the gin-soaked boy
I'm the gin in the gin-soaked boy
I'm the ghost in the machine
I'm the genius in the gene
I'm the beauty in the beast
I'm the sunset in the east
I'm the ruby in the dust
I'm the trust in the mistrust
I'm the Trojan horse in Troy
I'm the gin in the gin-soaked boy
I'm the genius in the gene
I'm the beauty in the beast
I'm the sunset in the east
I'm the ruby in the dust
I'm the trust in the mistrust
I'm the Trojan horse in Troy
I'm the gin in the gin-soaked boy
I'm the tiger's empty cage
I'm the mystery's final page
I'm the stranger's lonely glance
I'm the hero's only chance
I'm the undiscovered land
I'm the single grain of sand
I'm the Christmas morning toy
I'm the gin in the gin-soaked boy
I'm the stranger's lonely glance
I'm the hero's only chance
I'm the undiscovered land
I'm the single grain of sand
I'm the Christmas morning toy
I'm the gin in the gin-soaked boy
I'm the world you'll never see
I'm the slave you'll never free
I'm the truth you'll never know
I'm the place you'll never go
I'm the sound you'll never hear
I'm the course you'll never steer
I'm the will you'll not destroy
I'm the gin in the gin-soaked boy
I'm the slave you'll never free
I'm the truth you'll never know
I'm the place you'll never go
I'm the sound you'll never hear
I'm the course you'll never steer
I'm the will you'll not destroy
I'm the gin in the gin-soaked boy
I'm the half-truth in the lie
I'm the why not in the why
I'm the last roll of the die
I'm the old school in the tie
I'm the spirit in the sky
I'm the catcher in the rye
I'm the twinkle in her eye
I'm the Jeff Goldblum in The Fly
I'm the why not in the why
I'm the last roll of the die
I'm the old school in the tie
I'm the spirit in the sky
I'm the catcher in the rye
I'm the twinkle in her eye
I'm the Jeff Goldblum in The Fly
Who am I?
The song is Gin Soaked Boy by The Divine Comedy. Neil Hannon (the band’s frontman and creator) has done a brilliant job with the lyrics and the vocals. My favourite lines in the song are ‘I'm the mystery's final page’, ‘I'm the why not in the why’ and ‘I'm the old school in the tie’. The song is addictive, I’ve heard it so many times, I know it by heart. :D

IPL - BOLLYWOOD AND MOOLAH before the cricket!!!
Switching the TV on when the match was in the 20th over with KKR needing 7 runs of 6 balls, 4 wickets remaining and Ganguly on strike, I thought the match was all but over for the Royals. It wasn’t supposed to end like that.Imagine my delight when Ganguly got out and the last ball saw a run out. This meant, the game wasn’t out of the hand, yet! That was good. The breathing was returning back to normal .Things could go our way in the super over [Incase it hasn’t been made clear, Rajasthan Royals were my favorites for the match].
Enter SUPER OVER: Kamran Khan’s given the ball. Was it the best option under the circumstances? I didn’t know. But I did know that I trusted Shane Warne at that moment. RR needed 15 runs to win. Gettable if we don’t screw up and we did have big hitters. Then came Yusuf Pathan and man, was he on a roll or what! The result, RAJASHTHAN ROYALS WIN THE FIRST SUPER OVER OF IPL!!! A loud whoop came and the victory dance followed. You can’t help but love this team. They did it last year, they are doing it again. And by the look of things, they might be able to pull off quite a few surprises off their socks in the coming games. Sometimes, you can only hope that they somehow turn the game in their favour and the other times, you give up that hope too, and then a miracle happens and they win. Only that these guys have make miracles seem so possible!
At the end of it, one naturally wants to watch the highlights of the game again and relive the moment over and over again. As a result, one turns to the news channels. The coverage IPL gets puts the elections to shame! Anyhoo, the disappointment I felt when I saw what most of the channels were showing was more than the disappointment of not being able to finish an exam off on time. The actual game had taken a back seat to Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra and their jubilation on how they beat Shahrukh Khan’s team!! Interview after interview of the two of them. To top it all, there was a question on how hard had Ms. Shetty held on to her beau’s hands in the super over. WTF! Give me a B.R.E.A.K!!Since when have they become more important than the cricket? Oh, my bad, since forever!!! Sure Bollywood’s bringing in the moolah, but so are the OTHER TEAM OWNERS [the non filmy guys] who don’t get half the publicity that the Bollywood backed teams do. They’ve bought expensive players too, so why should these teams hog all the limelight? Shahrukh Khan’s everywhere. He was everywhere last year too and it doesn’t look like it’ll change in many years to come. Didn’t he learn anything from last year? So much hype and publicity generally does end up working against you. Like somebody had said, he will haunt you in your dreams and be a part of your worst nightmares. Ms. Zinta is keeping mum this year only because her team has won only one match so far [something in me wishes that it stays that way, at least it’ll be one less celebrity to be bombarded with!].
The glamour is alright as long as it does not overshadow the game. It brings in the extra entertainment factor, sure. Probably brings in more viewers and money too, but there is a place for everything. Let cricket gets it’s due. Let the on-field do the talking rather than the off-field. Let it be about the players, the teams winning, losing, putting up a great fight and miracles happening!

erm...about nothing!
And just when I thought that I was done with exams for a long looong time, BHAAAM it comes and I get one shoved in my face. Life’s way of throwing right back at me. What? I don’t really know…exams obviously, but seems like a much bigger thing, you on a grander scale and all. It’s the exams talking, I swear. Seems like they’ve taken over me and sold my soul to the Devil, speaking of which I was watching this movie the other day in which Robert Di Nero ultimately is revealed as the Devil himself. He's a great guy,Mr.Di Nero, not the Devil [probably he's great too, you never know]. I think it’s called Angel Heart. Where did that come from? Je ne sais pas.Done with the latest and the lastest exam today [I had to give an oral exam too!]. Anyway, seems like it’s over for now.-crosses fingers and begs God to end it!-
It's vacation time finally and there are a whole lot of things to be done. I’ve even made a list, how much more dorky can I get? Not a lot of room for improvement left there. But right now, all I want to do is sleep and not wake up for the next couple of weeks [at least]. Peace out and make way for sleep!!

V.O.T.E!

So guess what? I just came back from the polling booth after giving my first ever VOTEEEEEEEE!!!!! To know that I’ve played a role, even if it’s as small as a drop of water in the ocean or as small as a grain of sand in the desert, [ MELODRAMA ALERT :D] in deciding my country’s future. I gave it a lot of thought and voted the right person, hopefully into power!!
There's this rush about knowing that this huge responsibilty of my country is placed on me and people around me, to know that WE are the reason are the reason why a few things will and won't happen in the future. Call it whatever you want, first-timers-enthu, idealism, it does not matter 'coz right now I'm high!!! :D

EXAMS and ELECTIONS!
When one has exams between 2:00-5:00 P.M in the afternoon in the month of March, one should realize that it ain’t going to be easy. And one knew that…the heat, the scorching sun, the water missing from the water bottles, the power cuts at the exam centre would only be the insignificant problems when compared to the EXAM itself. But boy, was one wrong! This year around, a brand new problem joined the “league of the problems”. Whoever thought that democracy would one day be a pain? That something that’ll decide the country’s future would hamper the present? Oh yeah, one is talking about the ELECTIONS and the hullabaloo that comes with it. [Is it just this time around, or has there been as much hype for elections all along?]
One is asked the reason for making such statements? Well, this is why. The routine of reaching the examination centre before time turned into a frantic-panic-stricken struggle to get there on time on more than one occasion during the exams this year. Everyday, there was a new reason for the mad run to the centre. It began with the election campaign [speeches for the poor on Day1, women on Day2 and youth on Day 3], then came the filing of the nominations and finally arrived the celebrities to endorse the nominee. One questions why all of this is to happen while the exams are going on and pat comes the reply that the elections are more important than the measly exams [Yay!! Something more important than the all-sucking exams!] And that one should have started early considering one knew about this. Well, one did exactly that. But starting almost three hours early for a journey that takes an hour tops and yet having to make the maddening dash should not have been a problem at all when there still was the EXAM to be written.
There probably are a trillion better ways in which one could have handled the said problem, but all one wants to do right now is fume about it. The parties that were responsible for this have definitely lost a few brownie points from all of one’s friends and one, because yes, one can vote in this election!! But one also realizes that voting is a huge responsibility and ought to be taken seriously. That one should place the power in the hands of the right people. So all those eligible to vote, should vote in the coming elections and bring the change that is needed. Like a certain Mr. Obama says, YES.WE.CAN! And we should.
Anyway, all’s well that end’s well. The exams are over and one survived them. Now, all there is to do is VOTE!

IT'S BEEN A WHILE...

Unlike my other posts, this has not been pre written or even given much thought to. This has to be one of my first impromptu posts. My writing is kinda rusty right now, haven’t written in quite a while. With exams and procrastination taking away the top spots, blogging has been pushed down, very unwillingly though, to somewhere at the bottom of the list…but hey, it still has a place, right?
Well, this post is about nothing in general. Just a way of getting back to writing. I do plan on writing more frequently and ‘expanding the blogs horizons’ in this vacation. Since I started the blog around a year and half ago, there have been quite a few changes. Both in me and my writing, which means there will be changes in here as well. I don’t think I’ll particularly stick to posting poems and an odd article here and there. From now on, I’ll post anything that catches my eye or I find interesting. Good, the plan is beginning to take shape now.
Anyway, I’ve been listening to a lot of new artists lately.Exams equals to double the music and I’ve been hooked to a few of them. Can’t stop listening and wonder what I did all my life without them, okay that’s exaggerating it. But seriously, some of these guys are pretty darn fantastic. One in particularly is this chap called Damien Rice. Never heard of him until a few months ago and I’m sure a lot of people haven’t heard about him either. He’s Irish and incredible. His songs have this feel to them, that makes you want to listen to them over and over again ‘coz every time you listen to them, there’s something new in them. Most of his songs feature Lisa Hannigan, another Irish artist and they compliment each other excellently, like they were born to sing with and for each other, especially in the track ‘Volcano’. Has to be one of the best songs I’ve heard in a long long time. ‘The Blower’s Daughter’ is another song that I can’t get enough of. He has released two albums [0 and 9 and the album covers are very innovative!] and I’m still to listen to a few of the songs. Can’t wait to download them.
So I guess that’ll do for this post.
